Once the porcelain is leather hard, I trim the form and measure out the base to facet by hand. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-path-to-node=\"9\"\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eAfter a bisque firing, the piece is coated in a gloss glaze and fired to Cone 10 (\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e2381°F). Then a layer of liquid 22k white gold is painted over the glazed surface and fired a third time in a dedicated luster kiln to fuse the precious metal to the porcelain.
